January72012
Our local PBS teamed up with the independant movie theater downtown to show the first episode Downton Abbey’s second season today. I went with my parents, and so naturally, I wore the cloche I got for Christmas.
I think we were the only people in the theater who knew what was coming since we had already seen the whole season (and Holiday Special) through the ~*powers of the internet*~ It was delightful to watch surrounded by other fans.
Highlights included:
A woman in front of us who hid behind her coat during embarrassing or tense scenes. ♥
The audience responding with “Ooooohhh!” like teenagers after everything Edith said to get a rise out of Mary.
The hissing that Vera’s appearance inspired in the audience as a whole. (I think they would’ve started throwing tomatoes at the screen if the scene hadn’t ended when it did!)
Sybil’s face. She was absolutely ENTRANCING on the big screen.
So yeah. Good day! We think they should do it every week!
